SUBJECT:
EMERGENCY TECHNICAL SPdQ FICATION CHANGE - BRAIDWOOD NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 (TAC NO. 68334) s By letter dated June 2,1988, you requested an emergency Technical Specification change to Technical Specificay on 4.3.1.1. for the Reactor Trip System Instrumentation. This change extends on a one-time-basis, for Unit 1 only, the monthly surveillance interval for the Power Range Neutron Flux High Setpoint for an additional ten (10) days.
Per our telephone conference, the emergency Technical Specification change is required to allow CECO time to schedule and prepare for the cleaning of the thimble tubes which.have been blocked since May 10, 1988.
The staff has reviewed your evaluation and the justification provided in your submittal and find it acceptable. This letter confirms the verbal granting of an emergency Technical Decification change as described above for Unit 1.
This change to the Technical Specification will be in effect through June 15, 1988.
