By letter SL-4181 dated February 29, 1988, Georgia Power Company submitted information to the NRC concerning the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) at Plant Vogtle Unit 1 as required by License Condition ,

2.C.7(b). As a result.of experiencing problems with the Process Effluent Radiation Monitoring System (PERMS), we advised you in the aforementioned letter that we had been unable to perform the 1000 hour0.0116 days <br />0.278 hours <br />0.00165 weeks <br />3.805e-4 months <br /> availability test of the SPDS. He further advised you that we expected to perform the SPDS availability test by June i, 1988. The estimated test date was contingent upon the successful resolution of PERMS-related issues.

currently identified PERMS-related . issues are expected to be resolved by September 1, 1988. The scheduled completion date for the 1000 hour0.0116 days <br />0.278 hours <br />0.00165 weeks <br />3.805e-4 months <br /> availability test for SPDS is now December 31, 1988.

l The appropriate individual at NRC Region II was informed of the reasons for the delay in conducting the SPDS availability test during a telephone conversation on June 1, 1988.
