U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE - AMENDMENT 10, CHANGE TO POSSESSION LIMIT FOR AMERICIUM-241 (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2019-PMP-0024)

Dear Dr. Banovic:

In accordance with your application dated January 6, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20023A339), as supplemented by letter dated June 3. 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20167A000), and pursuant to Part 70 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Materials License SNM-362 is hereby amended to increase the possession limit for americium-241. Accordingly, License Condition 8AA has been modified as discussed in the safety evaluation report.

In addition, License Condition 10 has been modified to include the dates of January 6, 2020 and June 3, 2020. All other license conditions remain the same. A safety evaluation report is included as Enclosure 1. Public and non-public versions of Amendment 10 to Materials License SNM-362 are included as Enclosures 2 and 3 to this letter.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter and public versions of the enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the Publicly Available Records System component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

The documents transmitted contain security-related information. When separated from Enclosure 3 the remaining documents are decontrolled.
