Dear Sir,
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act, as amended, for all documents pertaining to the following:
(1) correspondence between the NRC and Automatic Sprinkler Corporation of America (ASCOA) about the operability of 6-inch deluge and pre-action fire protection water control valves; (2) licensees notified by ASCOA about the valves, licensees affected by the inoperability of the valves; (3) ASCOA instructions for both temporary and permanent solutions to problems associated with the operability of the valves for use by licensees; (4) NRC efforts to assure licensee compliance with requirement for operable sprinkler system i.e. enforcement efforts, follow up investigations.
The information being requested will be used by interested mem-bers of the public and will be brought to the attention of members of Congress, NRC Commissioners and other state and local officials.
Because no personal financial benefit will ensue, I hereby request waiver of the search and copy costs.
