Docket No. 50-219 Regulation Effectiveness Review This le.ter provides our response to the Final Report of the Regulatory Effectiveness Deview (RER), transmitted by Mr. Vargas' letter dated August 19, 1988.
In general, we found the team visit to be helpful in providing us with an independent assessment of the Security features and capabilities in place St Oyster Creek. We appreciate the professionalism exhibited by the NRC personnel and U. S. Army Special Forces, and their positive attitude toward providing helpful guidance to upgrade Security measures.
For each findirg contained in section 2 of your report, with the exception of 2.2.6, we have identified the appropriate action necessary or provided a discussion why no further action is appropriate.
A preliminary schedule has been developed for timelf irnplementation of the various actions, however, several items are of such magnitude that they will have to be prioritized in accordance with the Oyster Creek Integrated Schedule License Amendment.
The attachment to this letter must be withheld from public disclosure in acc:rdance with 10CFR73.21 because it contains Safeguards Information SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION ATTACHED.
