Leonard, Jr. Vice President - Nuclear Post Office Box 618 Shoreham Nuclear Power Station Wading River, New York 11792 Gentlemen: Subject: NRC Region I Inspection Report No. 50-322/88-02 This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Frank J. Crescenzo on February 21, 1988 through April 29, 1988, at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Wading River, New York. This inspection consisted of observations of activities, interviews with personnel. and document reviews. The results of this inspection are described in the enclosed NRC Region I inspection report and were discussed with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. This letter also refers to your April 2/,1988 response to our March 28, 1988 Notice of Violation regarding radiochemistry and training problems identified in 1986. We find your responses acceptable and, based on the numerous inspections of this matter since 1986, we now consider this matter closed. No reply to this letter is required.
