This refert to the routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs. W. J. Slawinski
and M. A. Kunowski of this office during the period April 18-29, 1988, of
activities at Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC
Operating Licenses No. DPR-39 and No. DPR-48 and to the discussion of our
findings with Mr. Plimi and others of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection on April 29, 1988.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report ider.tifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations,
independent measurements and interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFP. 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
