Gentlemen:
This refers to the meeting held on September 26, 1988, at the Region III
office between you and others of your staff and Mr. A. Bert Davis and ether
members of the NRC to discuss the potential employment discrimination
violation and other managerial problems identified in the Quality Control /
Quality Assurance areas at Davis-Besse.
This meeting was an enforcement
conference held as a result of the findings identified in our Inspection
Reports No. 50-346/88012 and 50-346/88027.
In addition, this refers to a
meeting conducted between Mr. E. Blake and Mr. J. Grobe and other members of
the NRC staff on September 28, 1988, to discuss the specific details of the
inspection findings identified in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-346/88027.
The enclosed copy of our report of these meetings identifies those matters
discussed during the meetings.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning these meetings.
