0 Docket Nos. 50-327/328 MAY 2 61988 Mr. S. A. White Manager of Nuclear Power Tennessee Valley Authority 6N 38A Lookout Place 1101 Market Street Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402-2801
Dear Mr. White:
SUBJECT:
SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF LICENSEE PERFORMANCE Re:
Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the NRC has resumed the Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) program for the Sequoyah facility. The evaluation period will be approximately twelve months. However, the exact time of the evaluation may be affected by the status of the Sequoyah units at the end of that period.
For planning purposes, we consider that the evaluation period began on February 4, 1988 Although there is substantial post-restart work yet to be done for Sequoyah Unit 2 and Sequoyah Unit 1 is not expected to restart for several months, we believe that this is the time to resume the SALP process.
In this way, we expect to begin restoring normal regulatory programs at Sequoyah.
Should you have any questions regarding this letter or the SALP process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
