RESPONSE TO NRC BULLETIN 88-03, "INADEQUATE LATCH ENGAGEMENT IN HFA TYPE LATCHING RELAYS MANUFACTURED BY GENERAL ELECTRIC (GE) COMPANY" - TACS 68041 AND 68042 On March 10, 1988, the staff issued NRC Bulletin 88-03 requesting that licensees perfonn inspections to ensure that all GE latching-type HFA relays installed in Class 1E applications have adequate latch engagement and that those relays which fail to meet acceptance criteria be repaired or ieplaced.
In your letter dated April 11, 1988, you stated that GE-type HFA relays are not used at Point Beach. We concur with you that Bulletin 88-03 is not applicable to Point Beach. Accordingly, TACs 68041 and 68042 are considered closed.
