Subject: NRC Region I Inspection Report No. 50-309/88-14
Gentlemen:
This transmits the August 1 to August 31, 1988 routine inspection findings of
Mr. C. Holden and Mr. R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant,
Wiscasset, Maine. Those findings were based on observations of activities,
interviews, and document reviews, and have been discussed with Dr. doulette of
your staff.
Within the scope of thi- inspection, no violations were identified. Your
actions in response to tre August 13 plant trip and failure to transfer to
offsite power were well esordinated. Plant personnel aggressively identified
and brought forth equipment functionality concerns for resolution. These
issues were addressed prior to plant restart.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
