In Georgia Power Company's (GPC's) letter, 3L-4489, dated June 30, 1988, total relief was requested from a portion of the requirements of Generic Letter 88-01/NUREG-0313 Revision 2.

Specifically, it was requested that reactor water cleanup (RHCU) system piping located downstream of double isolation valves be excluded from the scope of GPC's intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) program.

Based on conversations with Mr. L. P.

Crocker of the NRC, it is GPC's understanding that this relief will not likely be granted at this time.

Adequate time does not exist to properly prepare for these inspections for the upcoming Unit 1 outage scheduled to ccarience September 28, 1988.

Accordingly, GPC respectfully requests schedular relief for initial implementation of this portion of Generic letter 88-01 at Plant Hatch until the next scheduled cutage for Plant Hatch Unit 2.
