McGuire Nuclear Station Docket No. 50-369, -370 Verbal Commitment Summary Centlemen:
On September 14, 1988, A. Cunningham of NRC and R. Leonard, B. Davis, and R.
Banner of Duke discussed plans for TSC and CMC data transmission regarding McGuire Nuclear Station.
To enhance and automate the consunication process, Duke will use the existing Operator Aid Computer datalink which has been in operation over a year and has proven to be reliable.
A omall change to the program will convert the detalink format to the Data Transmittal System foret.
The system would be capable of being started from any VAX terminal, (1e..such as the one currently in the TSC). This system will be in place by January 1, 1989.
A secondary method utilizing IBM PCs is also planned, which will provide a backup in case the primary method fails. This method will be in place by July 1, 1989.
