FEMA ANALYSIS OF THE PROMPT ALERT AND NOTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR THE FARLEY NUCLEAR STATION Thank you for your response of May 2, 1988, regarding the FEMA analysis of the Prompt Alert and Notification System for Farley, We understand that due to delays by FEMA in responding to questions and issues regarding the FEMA report methodology and survey results, the date for completing corrective actions including a proposed retest date could not be provided at this time. Considering the actions taken thus far and the required coordination between Alabama Power Company and the States of Alabama and Georgia, and FEMA, a 40 day extension is being provided on this matter.

Accordingly, you are requested to provide to this office within 45 days of this letter, a final submittal of proposed corrective actions and a date for conducting the retest.
