' SEALED SOURCE-TYPE: Radiography Source DESCRIPTION:
- The Model VXP capsule consists of Iridium-192 metallic pellets, contained'in a singly encapsulated aluminum 7075-T651, or-stainless steel 304, 316 enclosure. .The capsule cavity is sealed by insertion of a plug that is heliarc (TIG) welded to the main capsule body. The outside of the capsule is threaded for insertion inte a 7/16-20NF taped hole, and the end has a.1/16" (1.59 mm) screw: driver slot for inserting. The source is designed for use in the North American X-Ray Model VXR-F and the VXR-G Exposure-Devices. Loading of the exposure device should
-only be done at Gamma Industries.
' PROTOTYPE TESTING:
~These sources have a classification of E32212, as described in ANSI publications N5.10-1968. The manufacturer states that
- prototype sources have met the test criteria specified in the
. ANSI document.
' QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL:
Each source assembly is visually inspected after fabrication, then subjected to a contamination wipe test. If the wipe test indicates contamination,Lthan a hot water bubble test will be performed.
LIMITATIONS AND/OR OTHER CONSIDERATIONS OF USE:

- specifically licensed by the NRC or an Agreement State.
- Handling, storage, use, transfer, and disposal: To be determined by the licensing authority.

NRC attempted to obtain copies of all_information submitted-by?the! registrant in-support l of the' evaluation. 'However, NRC could not' locate all the information. Therefore,.no* safety evaluation ~of the source was
- performed as partLof the.. conversion of the certificate to sinactive status.
