Tht saspended solids of d sample from discharge point 501 (Sewage Treatment Plant) exceeded the instantaneous maximum permit limit.

CAUSE OF__ NONCOMPLIANCE:
j The cause of the noncompliance was high solids carryover through the sewage plant. This was caused by #1 and #2 wet well pumps tripping on thermals due to clogging with debris. When the pumps were cleared, the high flows caused high carryover, and hydraulically overloading the clarifiers.

The estimated duration of the noncompliance was twelve hours.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:
The wet well pumps were repaired / cleaned on April 6, 1988.
