This is to acknowledge receipt of Revision 0 to the Fermt 2 Radiological Emergency Response Preparedness Plan, which returns the 23 pertinent procedures to the previous single document format of the "RERP Plan", along with other changes. This revision was received in our office on August 11, 1988.
We have reviewed the changes to the Fermi 2 Radiological Emergency Response Preparedness Plan and determined that they are consistent with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(q) and do not decrease the effectiveness of the emergency plan. These changes are, therefore, acceptable.
Please be reminded that 10 CFR 50.54(q) requires NRC approval of any changes to your emergency plans which may decrease their effectiveness.
- However, if your safety review assures no decrease in emergency preparedness effectiveness, then such changes may be made without prior NRC approval.
In all cases, you must furnish copies of each proposed change to the NRC in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q). Also, any changes to the Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures should be made in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E, Section V.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
