Revision 1 (February 1986) of Application for Certificate of Compliance, Sentinel SS RTG Package: Docket No. 71-9205.
Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Enclosed are ten copies of the change pages for Revision 1 of TES-3205,
" Sentinel SS Radiation, Structural, and Thermal Evaluation," February 1986.
This revision provides the information identified in your letter FCTC: RHO, 71-9205 dated December 18, 1985, with enclosure, and is consistent with discussions betwecn NRC and Teledyne Energy Systems held on 8 January 1986.
One major change has been incorporated into the package: that of the addition of a stainless steel outer container which encloses the original carbon steel shipping cask.
The original cask has been redesignated the shipping cask inner container.
The new outer container is a sealed unit and has provisions for lifting by crane, forklift and tie-down.
Also, the maximum curie inventory for shipment has been increased from 31,400 Ci to 32,900 Ci of Sr-90, approximately 5%.
The revised pages are in accordance with the revision instructions of Regulatory Guide 7.9, Rev.
1, January 1980.
