Mr. C. Andognini Chief Executive Officer, Nuclear Gentlemen:
This letter acknowledges receipt of your letter of February 18, 1988 which transmitted Revision 1, to the Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Plan.
We have completed our review of Revision 1 to the Rancho Seco Emergency Plan.
During this review we noted that there have been some changes to the SMUD organization which have not been reflected in your Emergency Plan.
Specifically, there were numerous references in Section 8 referring to the Manager of Emergency Preparedness, and this is no longer a SMUD position.
On May 5,1988 Mr. Kent Prendergast of my staff contacted Mr. Frank Hauck of your staff regarding the Revision to your Emergency Plan.
Based upon this conversation, it is our understanding that the Emergency Plan will be examined and revised to reflect the current SMUD organization, and that these changes will be sent to us in the near future.
It is our conclusion that the revised Emergency Plan with the above agreed to changes continues to meet the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of Appendix E to 10 CFR 50.
