FORT CALHOUN STATION, UNIT NO.1 - AMENDMENT NO.187 TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. DPR-40 (TAC NO. M99885)

Dear Mr. Gambhir:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.187 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to your application dated October 3,1997, as supplemented by letter dated May 18,1998.

The amendment revises Technical Specification 3.9 to clarify required flow paths for the auxiliary feedwater system and deletes the surveillance requirement for specific auxiliary feedwater pump discharge pressure.

A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The Notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Register notice.
