Dear Mr. Gambhir:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.186 to Facility Operating License l

No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1. This amendment consists of changes to i

the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to your application dated July 11,1995.

The amendment revises TS 2.3 to inctease the allowed outage times for the safety injection tank (SIT). The amendment has been a collabrative effort coordinated through the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CEOG).

- A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is also tinebed. The Notice of Issuance will be

~ included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Reaister notice.
