INADEQUATE CORE COOLING INSTRUMENTATION SITE INSPECTION By letters dated March 5 and March 29, 1985, you responded to the staff's January 29, 1985 request for additional information relating to the subject item. The staff has reviewed your responses and would like to arrange a site verification inspection of the inadequate core cooling instrumentation (reactor vessel water level control and subcooling margin monitor) at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. Please contact us as to an acceptable date for this inspection.

The inspection should last li to 2 days and will review such things as operating procedures, training, calibration records and startup test data.

The staff is available at anytime over the next three months except for the last week in March. Upon reaching a mutually agreeable date for the inspection, we will forward to you a list of the participants and an inspection agenda. We look forward to hearing from you.
