Evaluation of Non-Destructive Examination Activities Gentlemen:
This letter refers to two technical concerns related to your non-destructive examination programs and activities. The first concern was raised to our attention by your Quality Hotline, and a second concern came up in our subsequent followup. The concerns as I understand them are documented in the enclosure.
I understand that you are currently evaluating these concerns as related to the effectiveness of your UT measurements to assure operability of components.
I also understand that this evaluation includes components involved in the current pipe whip restraint action plan.
Finally, I uno'erstand that you are planning to provide this evaluation to us 5 days before criticality in recovering from the current outage.
