NOTICE OF LIMITED BAN ON EXPORTATION OF LOW-LEVEL RADI0 ACTIVE WASTE This letter is to notify you of the January 17, 1986, action of the Southeast Compact Commission in placing a limited ban on the exportation of low-level radioactive wastes generated by licensees in Southeast Compact party States.
This ban becomes effective March 1, 1986.
The enclosed letter defines the parameters of the ban.

Yffective March 1,1996, waste must not be exported outside the regfon for dfsposal ff (1) f t seets the Ifeensing requf ttments of the rygfonal fac(1f ty (Sernwell) or (2) it could meet such requiremnts through processing by available methods.
Please assist us in notifying the appropriate persons regarding this new polfey.
We have asked the ef g*:t state 49enefes responsible for licensing the use of radfonctive mterials in the rygf on to inform their generators of Tow-level radf oactive waste.
