s MEMORANDUM TO: Possible Attendees of the 19th Annual ::ational Conference on Radiation Control FROM: Charles M. Hardin, Executive secretary RE: Announcement and Other Pertinent Information DATE: March 20, 1987 The 19th Annual tiational Conference on Radiation Control will be held in Boise, Idaho on May 18-21, 1987, at the following facility:

Red Lion Motor Inn (Riverside) 293 and Chinden Blvd.

Boise, ID 83704 (208) 343-1871 Enclosed is a tentative agenda, which outlines the program and activities for the week.

Should you be planning to attend, also enclosed is a card for your convenience in making your appropriate lodging reservations directly to the Red Lion Motor Inn (Riverside).

The cutoff date for making reservations, that is, if you wish to take advantage of the block of rooms set aside in the name of the Conference, is April 25, 1987. The rate is $43.00 single and $56 double plus 5% tax.

I would like to strongly encourage you to preregister in order l

that we might provide our host with an approximate nu .ber of attendees, primarily as related to social activities (form l

i attached to the "Local Host Welcome Sheet). If you are not aware, the host has to make certain commitments regarding the number of participants and it would make his job much easier, plus potentially save the Conference some money. Another advantage to preregistration is the fact tha

! you don't have to wait as long in line in order to ge:

l registered - you just walk up and pick up your pre-prepared packet of information. As we have done for the past several l

years, there will be a particular area set up, during "offi:ia: i registration," for those of you who have preregistered.

DATE: .V :h 20, 1987 Page 2 rollowing is the fee schedule f or this .eeting :

Full Registration S 34.00 Spouses Program S120.00 NOTE: If you are coming for one day only, and do not plan tc participate in the social events, then there will be no registration fee charged to you. However, you need to register your attendance at the meeting.

All checks or money orders shall be made payable to:

Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc.,

or CRCPD.

Regarding the spouses program, the local host has addressed this issue as far as the fee, and the need to preregister, in his "Welcome Sheet. " He has also listed the "formal" activities for the spouses. As an added feature with this announcement, the 1988 Annual Meeting host is seeking your input into the interest of the spouses for the 1988 annual meeting, which is scheduled for Nashville, Tennessee. Please take time to fill out (better yet, have your spouse fill it out) and then return it to Ms. Mary Helen Short at the address listed on the interest sheet.

Should you have any questions, please contact me.

l Come to Heaven in 87 Howdy from the State of Idaho Plans have been set in motion for the 1987 Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors Meeting in Boise, Idaho, Mav 18-21st. We hope to have an exciting program as well as seine great social and spouses activities.

Idaho is one of the best kept secrets as an exciting travel destination. You must not miss your opportunity to discover Idaho's many treasures this spring.

May is a beautiful time to experience Idaho and the variety of activities available: breathe the clean air, visit Old Boise and the Birds of Prey Center; dine in some of the best restaurants this side of the Rockies; and explore the Boise River Greenbelt. You'll fall in love with some of Idaho's most charming f eatures , and you'll go away with lasting memories of your visit to this conference. .

The Red Lion Inn (Riverside) is making their finest rooms available to us at a nominal cost.

Attached are descriptions of the social and soouses events ,

we have planned and a preregistration form to be filled out and sent to us, if possible.

We want to encourage you to preregister so we can obtain ,

an accurate count for the social and spouse's activities. '

We must know how many spouses will be attending in order to make reservations as early as possible. The outlined i spouses activities, plus the evening social events, will cost

$120.00 per person. If we don't know of at least twenty (20) ,

spouses who will participate by April 25th, we wi'.1 have to cancel the "formal" spouse's program.  ;

You may want to come earlier or stay later to partake in some extra curriculum activities such as:

A night of gambling in Elko, Nevada; A white water raf ting trip down some of Idahe waterways; A tour of Sun Valley; A trip to Yellowstone National Park; or A visit to Idaho's old mining and ghost towns If you're intereste in one of these extra etents. Let us know and we'll place you in contact with the right people. <

We hope your visit will be as exciting as it has been to ,

plan it for you. When ycu return hcme, perhaps ytu know why we have said "Come to Heaven in 87."
