50-269/88-10, 50-270/88-10, 50-287/88-10 Dated April 21, 1988, Response To Violations Gentlemen:

As requested by letter from W. E. Cline, h7C/ Region II, subject as above, dated April 21, 1988, please find attached the Duke Power Company responses to the notice of violations.

These violations were identified by W. W. Stansberry, NRC/ Region II on March 21 -

25, 1988, during the course of a routine NRC Safeguards Inspection at Oconee Nuclear Station.

Violation number, 50-269/88-10-01, 50-270/88-10-01, and 50-287/88-10-01, addresses three (3) non-bullet resisting openinge greater than ninety-six (96) square inches not secured by grates, doors or covers.

Violation number, 50-269/88-10-02, 50-270/88-10-02, and 50-287/88-10-02, addresses an escorted individual which

  • tad been allowed access to the Protected Area with incorrect access authorization documentation.

The attached material is applicable to the security provisions at Oconee Nuclear Stati.on; therefore, Duke requests that this material be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 73.21.
