Dear Roy,

l Enclosed is the compilation of comments and responses on the EPRI/WOG report, NSAC-113.

This represents our current understanding of industry positions.

In quick summary, we have agreed to many of the changes suggested by EPRI/WOG, especially those which deal with initiating events or questions of historical data for the internal events.

We have not revised our analysis to account for the extensive credit for operator action taken in the EPRI/WOG study.

In the external event analysis we have acknowledged the conservatism in the internal flood analysis, however we do not recommend that the changes proposed for the seismic and fire analyses be accepted.

The differing views on seismic hazard curves are being addressed in other programs, and further changes should await the outcome of those efforts.

The EPRI/WOG fire analysis placed considerable credence upon Halon data obtained from DOE.

Our reading of the report referenced by EPRI suggests that the data is simply not applicable to the present study.

We would like to send copies of this report to other participants in the A-45 program, particularly UCLA and UEC.

In addition, in our discussion with EPRI/SAIC on April 14, they expressed an interer.t in viewing copies.

If there are no objections, copies will be sent to these groups.

We will assume the NRC will provide copies to other interested parties.

l Sincerely,

.1 l
