VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT 1 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION REPORT Planned inservice inspection of the North Anna Unit 1 "C" steam generator was completed during the fall 1998 refueling outage. In accordance with North Anna Power Station Technical Specifications, Surveillance Requirement 4.4.5.5.a, this letter provides notification of the steam generator tubes that were plugged during the outage. In steam generator 'C" one tube (Row 36, Column 22) was plugged. The indication of interest was a small volumetric condition, as coniirmed by RPC examination, classified as a " pit" by the North Anna analysis guidelines. Because the signal was poorly formed on the sizing channel of the bobbin data, a determination of through-wall extent was not made and the tube was plugged as a precautionary measure.
No new commitments are intended by this letter. If you have any questions concerning these results, please contact us.
Very truly you 1
