On July 27, 1987, GPUN reported the inoperability of the Remote Shutdown Panel source range neutron flux instrument, NI-9.
On November 18, 1987, we provided a revised repair schedule for NI-9.
The purpose of this letter is to clarify the repair schedule provided on November 18 and further revise the estimated time for repair.
The estimate of a nine day outage in the November letter was based on one shift per day work to repair the detector.
A repair schedule based on two ten hour shifts per day has been developed.
We now estimate that three days are needed to repair the detector exclusive of the time until proper plant conditions are established.
We maintain, as stated in the November letter, that if a shutdown occurs prior to the refueling outage, we will evaluate the benefit of repairing the detector.
