50-369 and 50-U0 Withdrawal of Proposed Technical Specification By letter dated August 30, 1985 Duke Power Company submitted proposed changes to Technical Specification 3/4.8.3 concerning the 125 VDC Vital Instrueentation and Control System Batteries.
The NRC staff reviewed the submittal, and by letter of Decer.ber 2,1985 requested additional information.
For the reasons discussed below. Duke Power hereby withdraws the above sul,mittal in its entirety.
Duke has recently initiated a study to evaluate options regarding the replacement and/or upgrading of all station batteries at McGuire. including the 125 VDC Vital Batteries addressed by the above specification.
Changes to
]
the battery system are likely to involve changes to the Technical Specifications!
therefore, any effort expended on the presert battery specification is likely to be duplicated in the near future.
This study is scheduled for completion in March of 1989. Design changes vill be reviewed at that time to determine any tepset on Tc:hnical Specifications, and appropriate Technical Specification tevisions vill be proposed.
