The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida, and the United States Air Force (USAF), Cape Canaveral Air Station (CCAS), Florida, have selected Space Gateway Support (SGS) as the Joint Base Operations Support Contractor (J-BOSC) to provide support services currently provided by EG&GFlorida, Inc. at KSC and Johnson Controls World Services at CCAS. Radiographic support activities being performed by EG&G Florida, Inc. will be assumed by Wyle' Laboratories, Inc., Florida Operations, a member of the J BOSC integrated team. The contract is scheduled to begin October 1,1998, contingent on confirmation to proc'e'ed by NASA /USAF.

No. 2953-1, from the State of Florida. In an effort to minimize the potential for impact to NAS A/USAF h
scheduled mission objectives it is necessary that Wyle Laboratories be registered as a user of NRC approved transport packages at the earliest possible time. It is our understanding, based on prior communications whh Ms. Eloise Ziegh, limt trmmiti.al of the roquogt for registration as a user of the \\j/} l identified packages ittttms the regulatory requirements of 10 CFR71.12; and futhermoro, that it is not necessary that an acknowledgmem of the request Iln seghtation be obtained prior to package use. Wyle Laboratories understands that a request to expedite documented confirmation may not be customary and j
may pose an impact to your organization's normal registration process. However, we request your understanding that the circumstances which prompt the requirement for expedited confirmation ofuser registration are beyond the control of Wyle Laboratories.
Accordingly, we respectfully request your considerate and immediate attention to registering Wyle Laboratories as a User of the below listed radioactive materials transport packages and acknowledgment by fax.
