Inspection Report No. 50-354/86-05
A routine preoperational safety inspection of your water :hemistry control
program was conducted by Mr. H. Bicehouse of this office on January 13-24, 1986.
Our findings were discussed with Mr. R. Salvesen and others of your staff at
~
the conclusion of the inspection on January 24, 1986.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspec-
tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection con >1sted of selective examination of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel and observations by the inspector. We also
reviewed your actions taken in response to previously identified items.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were noted.
However, several apparent weaknesses in your water chemistry control program
were noted. The lack of fully qualified personnel to operate your Reactor
Water Cleanup and Condensate Demineralizer Systems is a weakness needing
prompt attention.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
