6 May 9, 1988 Docket No.50-029 Mr. George Papanic, Jr.
Senior Project Eligineer - Licensing Yankee Atomic Electric Company 1671 Worcester Road Framingham, Massachusetts 01701
Dear Mr. Papanic:
Ry letter dated September 15, 1987 the Yankee Atomic Electric Ccmpany requested an extension to the Yankee Nuclear Power Station Operating License expiration date. That action is under current NRC review. However, in connection with extending the years of operation of the plant we are concerned with embritttlement of the reactor vessel supports. We have identified some information we need to evaluate this concern.
Kindly respond to the enclosed request for additional information within 60 days of receipt of this letter.
We also request that this information be included in the next update of the FSAR in Chapter 200 or 201.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required ur. der P.L.96-511.
Sincerely, Original signed by:
Morton B. Fairtile, Project Manager Project Directorate I.3 Division of Reactor Projects, I/II
