Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) hereby submits the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP) Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) for your review and approval.
These documents include a Level I probabilistic risk assessment in three volumes and the external events analysis.
As discussed in the Nove ber 19, 1987 meeting, CP&L intends to use this PRA as a risk management tool. To support use of the PRA in this way, CP&L requests that the NRC review this methodology in an expedited manner.
These documents contain CP&L proprietary information. Therefore, in accordance with 10CFR2.790, the Company requests that they be withheld from public disclosure. An affidavit attesting to this fact is included in.
In accordance with the requirements of 10CFR170.12, a check for $150 is also enclosed.

I am Senior Vice President, Operations Support, and I am authorized by Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) to review the information sought to be withheld and to apply for its withholding.
(2)
I am making this Affidavit in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790.
(3)
The averments of facts set forth in this Affidavit are true to the best of my knowledge, information, and belief, and that the sources of my information are officers, employees, agents, and contractors of CP&L.
(4)
The information sought to be withheld as confidential is contained in to NLS which is being transmitted herewith.
Information in Attachment 2 consists of analyses and supporting data, relative to the design and operation of the Brunswick Steam Electric P' ant, the application of which could provide a competitive economic advantage, e.g., by improved reliability and operation of the facility (10 CFR 2.790(a)(4)).
Pursuant to Sections 2. 790(b)(1) and (b)(4), I aver that:
