Gentlemen:
This confirms your request from Mr. P. Barrett of your staff to Mr. J. Suermann
of Region III on February 20, 1986 to make a presentation to the Regional
Administrator on Friday, tiarch 7,1986 on your response to the SALP 5 Board
Reports No. 50-315/85001; 50-316/85001. The meeting will take place at 10:00
a.m. (EST) at the D. C. Cook site in Bridgman, Michigan.
While this meeting is considered a presentation and discussion forum between
American Electric Power and the NRC, the meeting will be opened to any other
interested parties as observers. Those persons outside the licensee and NRC
staffs shocid inform the Regional Office of their intent to participate.
We further understand you will be submitting a written copy of your response
to the SALP Board Report, pursuant to our letter of January 13, 1986, so as to
reach us no later than March 5, 1986. As requested in our letter, we
anticipate receiving your response to the operational history evaluation as
well.
