THE NRC WELDING TEAM INSPECTION
Reference:
Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Units 1, 2 and 3 The NRC will perform an independent welding team inspection during the period of May 16-27 and June 6-10, 1988, at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant.
The objective of this inspection, inspection tasks and inspectors participating on the team are identified in the enclosure.
Members of your staff will be kept informed of our inspection progress and significant findings.
An exit meeting with you or members of your staff will be conducted on June 10, 1988, in accordance with our normal procedures. The inspection results of the team inspection will be transmitted to you through the standard NRC inspection report.

Objective The objectives of this inspection are: (1) to perform a welding inspection to review, address and close-out issues identified during the first NRC welding team inspection, (2) verify that TVA has an effective program in place to address and dispose employee concerns and that the concerns are handled and processed in accordance with this prugram, and (3) verify that the ciata, analysis and conclusions in the TVA Welding Project Phase 11 report accurately reflects the present status of the inspected plant hardware.

Review the information contained in the Phase II report for the structural welding areas, b.
Review the TVA evaluation for the identified deficiencies and
