Dear Mr. Sumner-Enclosed is the staffs safety evaluation (SE) of your Unresolved Safety issue (USl) A-46 ,

implementation program at Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (Hatch), Units 1 and 2.

, . Your USI A-46 program at Hatch was established in response to Generic Letter 87-02 through a  ;

F 10 CFR 50.54(f) letter. The staff concludes that your USl A-4S implementation program has, in general, met the purpose and intent of the criteria in the Generic Implementation Procedure, Revision 2 and the staffs Supplemental Safety Evaluation Report No. 2 for the resolution of USI l'

A-46. The staff has determined that your corrective actions and completed physical modifications for resolution of outliers will result in safety enhancements, in certain aspects, that
