SUBJECT:
REVOCATION OF CONSTRUCTION PERMITS FOR YELLOW CDJ.EK PLANT By letter dated October 24, 1985, TVA requested that the NRC withdraw Construction Pemits CPPR-172 and CPPR-173 for the. Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, and included a cancellation plan for the site. The NRC staff has reviewed the cancellation plan and has concluded that implementation of the plan will not have any significant detrimental environmental impact to offsite areas. Consequently, we will change Docket Nos. STN 50-566 and STN 50-567 to cancelled status. An Order revoking the construction pemits is enclosed. A copy of the Order has bnen forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication. Also enc 1' sed for your information is a copy of the related Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant 'mpact which has been published in the Federal Register.
NRC will maintain regulatory records for the Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant in the Public Document Room in Washington, D.C. for at least one year after the date of issuance of the Order. It is requested that you keep records pertaining to the Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant for a similar period of time.
A detailed description of the NRC staff review of the cancellation plan is enclosed. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact us.
