Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R.- C. Stewart of this office
during the period March 21-25 and April 4-8, 1988, of activities authorized by
NRC Operating License NPF-76 and Construction Permit CPPR-129 for the South
Texas Project, Units 1 and 2, respectively, and to the discussion of our
findings with Mr. J. T. Westermeier and other members of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.

The area examined during the inspection was the Unit 1 inservice testing program
for pumps and valves.
Within this area, the inspection consisted of- se10ctive
examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel,
and observations by the NRC inspector.
The inspection findings are documented

Within the secpe of the inspection, no violations or deviations were identified.
