Attached is a copy of a report dated December 26, 1985, from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) evaluation concerning the Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station (SES) September _18, 1985, partial participation offsite radiological emergency response exercise.
It was noted that the FEMA overall evaluation was stated as adequate to protect the health and safety of the public.
Additionally, it was noted that there were areas for improvement noted and several uncorrected Category B deficiencies that had not been corrected from previous inspections.
Further, Section 2.4 page 28 has six recommended areas for improvement as they pertain to the onsite and offsite emergency response.
It is requested that you cooperate with the appropriate state and parish agencies to ensure that the deficiencies in offsite preparedness identified by FEMA are corrected in a timely manner.
