DuBois of this office during the period November 18-22,.1985, of activities

authorized by NRC Operating License DPR-46 for Cooper Nuclear Station, and to

the discussion of our findings with Mr. P. Thomason and other members of your

,

staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during _the inspection included secondary containment integrity,

surveillance of pipe supports and the fire protection program and its

implementation. Within these. areas, the inspection consisted of selective '

. examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with

' personnel, and observations by the inspectors. These findings are documented.

in the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain activities under your license-

'

appeared to be in violation of NRC requirements. The violations reported in

paragraphs.2 through 4 of the enclosed inspection report were forwarded to.you

by our letter and Notice of Violation, dated February 13, 1986,;therefore, this

letter does not require further written response.
