Inspection Report No. 70-687/88-02 A special radiological controls inspection was conducted by Mr. R. L. Nimitz of this office'on_ March 17 -.18, 1988. The purpose _of the inspection was to

- review the circumstancas surrounding,-licensee evaluatior,s made and corrective .

actions taken following'an incident involving an individual who left your facility on March 3, 1988 with contaminated personal items. The findings of the inspection were discussed with you. ,

Two violations were identified. The first involved failure to provide an individual adequate instructions for performing personnel contamination monitoring. The second involved failure to make airborne radioactivity surveys during work in Hot Cell No.1 on February 27, 1988. You are required to-respond to these violations by following the instructions incluced in-Appendix A, Notice of Violation.

The inspector also identified other weaknesses in your radiological controit program. These are described in the enclosed inspection report. .
