Inspection Report Nos. 50-277/88-30 and 50-278/88-30
This letter refers to thr routine inspection conducted by Mr. S. Chaudhary
of this office on August 15-19, 1968 at the Peach Bottom Power Station,
Delta, Pennsylvania. fir. Chaudhary discussed the results of the inspection
with Mr. Franz of you- staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
Based on the results of this inspection it appears that one of your activities
was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the
Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
Specifically, the
program of wall modifications was not conducted in compliance with NRC
requirements. This violation has been categorized by severity level in
accordance with the "General Statement of Policy for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (Enforcement Policy).
You are required to respond to
this letter and in preparing your response, you should follow the instructions
in Appendix A.
We further request that you provide us with a schedule for implementing
your control program to assure that walls and blockouts remain in the same
condition / configuration as analyzed and modified.
The responses directed by this letter and the accompanying Notice are not
subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget
as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
