Intake Water Level fionitoring The purpose of this letter is to document the results of a meeting held with members of the NRC staff on June 7,1988.
With regard to the above subject, Messrs. Staley, Dromerick and Orr of the NRC, reviewed the intake structure and the procedural guidance which was referenced in GPUN's cancellation j
request to install high water level instrumentation and an associated alarm in the control room. The review team concluded that instrumentation with an associated alarm was not necessary, however, this determination was based upon replacement of the current water level staff gauge with a suitably graduated staff gauge (0.1 f t. graduations, with numbering that conforms to Oyster Creek grade elevation from -4 f t. to +7 ft.).
GPUN committed to replace the staff gauge, however, no commitment regarding schr:dule was identified at the meeting.
Subsequent discussions with members ut your staf f requested that the gauge be replaced by August 15, 1988.
Due to a delay in shipping the staff gauge was not received from the vendor until I
August 15, 1988. GPUN expects that installation will be complete within two (2) weeks. With the completion of this activity, GPUN cinsiders this SEP topic closed.
