In our '[U.ter to you of October 30, 1985, we confirmed your. commitments to complete;certain actions ~ prior to restart of the-Palisades Plant from the current refueling outage. These commitments involved your achieving specific objectiver regarding~ reductions in the overall maintenance backlog and control room deficiencies, and development and implementation of maintenance trending programs.
In our mecting at the Palisades site 'on January 31, 1986, you presented to me and mesbers of my staff the status of your efforts regarding these commitments. Based on this presentation and the results of two special inspections by my staff', conducted on January 6-8, 1986 and January 29, 1986, Region III has determined that the prior to restart commitments delineated in our>0ctober 30,1985. le,tter have been satisfied.,
Region III will contintie to monitor the implementation of those consnitments targeted for completion following the refueling outage.
