The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has completed its SALP assessment relating to the performance of the LaSalle County' Station and will present its findings at a meeting on February 18, 1986, at 1:30 p.m. at the,s U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission, Region III Office in Glen Ellyn,'

Illinois. Arrangements for this meeting were made between Mr. Dennis Farrar of your staff and Mr. Robert DeFayette of Region III on February 4,1986.

The second half of this meeting will be a presentation and discussion of.

your response to our letter of November 22, 1985 (the 50.54(f) letter).

We encourage Comonwealth Edison Company to have appropriate corporate and plant management representation at the meeting to ensure a mutual understanding of the issues and findings being presented by NRC.

While this meeting is considered a presentation and discussion forum between Commonwealth Edison and the NRC, the meeting will be opened to any other interested parties as observers. Those persons outside the licensee and NRC staffs should inform the Regional.0ffice of their intent to participate.

We hope this meeting will benefit your organization and provide you with a meaningful characterization of the overall safety performance for the LaSalle County Station.
