Subject:
INADVERTENT RELEASE OF RADI0 ACTIVE LIQUID Due to an erroneous valve lineup, approximately 600 gallons of liquid waste were pumped to the circulating water discharge pipe instead of a tank truck at about 6:00 p.m. on October 9, 1977.
The unit is in an outage and the circulating water system was shutdown.
It is estimated that approximately 0.01 curie was discharged.
Isotopic analysis of the waste liquid storage tank prior to the pumping evolution was:
