Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-289/88-19
A routine, unannounced, safety inspection of the radiological controls program
at TMI-l was conducted by Dr. S. S.arbini on July 25-29, 1988. The inspection
focused on work connecteo with the current refueling outage. In addition
a recent hot particle contamination incident was reviewed, together with,the
analyses and calculations performed relative to this incident. The inspection
also included review of tha status of previously identified inspector follow-up
items.
With5 the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. The overall
radia.ogical controis program in support of the outage appeared to be good.
However, some areas were identified that need improvement as discussed in the
enclosed Inspection Report.
