FAILURE SHUTDOWN OF REACTOR COOLANT PUMP SEAL CAUSES UNPLAN The unit was shutdown from approximately 1 percent power at 3:15 a.m.,

July 2, 1977, due to a reactor coolant pump seal failure.

40,000 gallons of reactor' coolant system water was leaked over a periodApproxima ,,
