Dear Mr. Buehne:
Thank you for your letter dated June 20,1998, in response to our letter and Notice of
Violation dated May 27,1998, Your letter restated the circumstances of the case and
expressed some concerns about welding activities at Wolf Creek. Our review of your
letter indicates that no new information was provided, and we note that concerns about
Wolf Creek's welding program were reviewed and documented in NRC Inspection Report
50-482/97-13, which was attached to our May 27 letter to you. We consider this case
closed, but we will continue to conduct inspections at Wolf Creek to ensure activities are
conducted safely.
